Introducing the Linda & David Eddy Center for Girls
This project in Tanzania is more than a building — it is a promise.
A promise that every girl deserves dignity, the right to learn, to grow, and to dream without fear.
A promise that Linda’s legacy of compassion will continue to impact generations.
Together, with hearts united across the world, we are building a future where girls in Selela are not only protected — they are empowered to rise.
In the Maasai community of Selela, Tanzania, many young girls still face the dangers of forced child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM) — practices that strip them of safety, education, and the chance to shape their own future.
When philanthropists David and Linda Eddy visited Selela, they witnessed firsthand the courage of girls determined to build better lives. They also saw the urgent need for a permanent, protected haven. After Linda’s passing, David chose to honor her memory through action — helping turn compassion into a lasting legacy.
The result is the Linda & David Eddy Center for Girls — a safe house designed to protect, uplift, and empower young girls seeking refuge and opportunity. Led by the African Millennium Foundation and developed in collaboration with local community leaders, this initiative will transform the lives of vulnerable girls in Selela and the surrounding region.
