USC Pen-Pal Program - Kenya & Uganda

The USC AMF Pen Pal Program offers 7th and 8th grade students from the USC neighborhood community a unique educational and cultural opportunity through correspondence with students in Africa, improving student's literacy skills through the medium of reading and writing for social change.

Working with USC Family of Schools partner Saint Agnes, the program strongly emphasizes global awareness and social development as tools for skill development. Using a thematic approach, it encourages students to study and write about peace building on an international level. Implementing pertinent literature, writing exercises, guest speakers, and field trips the students grow in their role as global citizens.
